Contact details tracing for beneficiaries and clients.
You know who they are. You need to reach them. xverified returns a current address, phone numbers and employer for the beneficiaries, members and clients you have lost touch with, from the same sources our beneficiary tracing runs on. Priced per record and charged on positive traces only, it is the entry product for credit providers and smaller administrators.

Current contact channels, with the evidence behind each.
- Residential address
- The most recent address with a confirming footprint and the date it was last seen, plus previous addresses where useful for field follow-up.
- Phone numbers
- Mobile and landline numbers ranked by recency, flagged where a number is shared with another person.
- Employer
- Current or most recent employer from payroll and credit footprints, for members whose benefit relates to employment.
- Status flags
- Deceased, emigrated or under debt review indicators where a source reports them, so you do not contact someone you should not.
- Negative result
- Records with no current channel are returned marked negative, with what was checked, and are not charged.
Three common books.
- Credit providers re-establishing contact with clients on lapsed agreements, refunds or settlements, where the Debt Collectors Act and POPIA both apply.
- Fund administrators and insurers with members or policyholders who are known but unreachable, before a benefit becomes unclaimed.
- Attorneys, trustees and registrars who need to serve notice, pay a distribution or confirm a shareholder’s address.
When the record is too weak to know who the person is, or the person must be verified before a payment, the book belongs in beneficiary tracing instead. We will tell you which is which when we see the sample.
File in, file out.
Send the batch in your own layout with your reference number, name, ID number and whatever contact details you last held. We match each record, return the current channels keyed on your reference, and invoice the positive traces at the per-record rate quoted in the engagement letter. A monthly cycle suits books that keep refreshing. See pricing.
Contact tracing questions
What is the difference between contact tracing and beneficiary tracing?
Contact details tracing assumes you already know who the person is and returns where to reach them: current address, phone numbers, email where available, and employer. Beneficiary tracing starts earlier, resolving who the person is from weak records, verifying them with Home Affairs and, where needed, finding them in the field. Contact tracing is priced per record; beneficiary tracing on success.
What is a positive trace?
A record for which we return at least one current, verified contact channel: an address confirmed against a recent footprint, or a phone number that connects to the person. Records with nothing current are returned as negative and are not charged.
Is contact tracing lawful under POPIA?
Yes, where you have a lawful basis to contact the person, such as performing a contract with them, paying money you owe them or pursuing a legitimate interest. The engagement letter records your basis, and we process only the fields needed to find the contact details.
How fast is it?
Batches are returned within days. Larger books run in weekly cycles, and the file comes back keyed on your own reference so it loads straight into your system.
Can you also verify the bank account?
Yes, as an add-on: account verification confirms that the account number belongs to the person's ID number before you pay. It is the step most often needed after a contact trace.
Find your
unclaimed.
We start with a scoped sample sweep under a short engagement letter, typically 5 000 dormant records, so you see the recovery rate before you commit to a full programme. You pay only for beneficiaries we trace and verify. See how pricing works.
